I hate to say it but if there's one thing that will let you down trying to land that fish you want it's more than likely going to be your reel or your line. Line dissapearing in behind your reel, loose loops, line dug in to itself, sticky drags, antireverse gone and poorly tied knots. The list goes on and I reckon I've probably done them all. Hopefully I've learnt from my mistakes and that this article may help you in selecting the right fishing reel for the job and caring for it, which hopefully will produce fewer on water dramas as possible for you or the kids starting out.
