We’re Not Just Fishing — We’re Healing, Together
Welcome aboard the Pumicestone Passage Pirates Inc.— a wild-hearted, kind-spirited crew on a mission to turn the tide for mental health, connection, and purpose. We’re a Queensland-based incorporated association built by locals, for locals — and we believe in the power of fishing, crabbing, prawning, camping, and 4WDing to save lives, change stories, and heal communities.
What We Do
We run free and low-cost fishing competitions, camping trips, BBQs, and 4WD outings across Southeast Queensland — with a difference. Every outing is designed to bring people together, especially those who’ve felt isolated, struggled with alcohol, trauma, suicide, domestic violence, or poor mental health.
We’re here for the blokes who’ve lost their spark, the mums who need a break, the young people with no mentors, and anyone looking for a crew that won’t let them walk the plank alone.
Our Mission
-
Reconnect community through outdoor adventure
-
Support people getting off the grog and out of isolation
-
Create safe spaces for mental health support and recovery
-
Champion accessibility and inclusion for families, kids, and carers
-

Why Join the Pirates?
When you sign up — whether as a Basic Member ($20/year) or a Premium Gold Member ($50/year) — you’re not just participating in fishing comps. You’re joining a crew that shows up for each other. That shares the load. That believes the best therapy is a line in the water and a mate by your side.
